Ghana’s favourite storyteller
Maukeni Padiki Ribeiro has been telling stories and observing details for as long as she has been speaking. She prides herself in chronicling modern day Ghanaian history with her fictional stories, her famous story series and think pieces. From inter-tribal marriages and office romance to COVID-19 and presidential elections, she has written about it all.
Since 2014, her exceptional storytelling abilities, knack for finding and highlighting the most compelling aspects of any topic and her charismatic ability to entertain and inform have given her a loyal following across the globe. The blog was awarded Best Blog at the 2016 Ghana Blogging and Social Media Awards.
Her readers are ‘the world’s best readers’, with a sense of community that spans the world of Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Telegram and Instagram. Their comments are usually just as interesting as her stories.
Professionally, Maukeni is a communications and marketing executive with 9 years of extensive experience in brand and content development across several sectors- insurance, government communication, advertising, creative arts, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and banking. In 2024, she was named one of the top 100 Career Women in Africa.
When she is not developing characters by people watching, she is listening to music, catching up on pop culture on Twitter or eating either chocolate or kelewele.

Wow……I’m hardly a social media person so it explains how I’m discovering your blog lol. I must say I have been awed by every single post I’ve read so far. In two days I have completed 8to5 and Knowthyman with all the articles in between (hope my boss doesn’t see this lol). I think you are an amazing writer and I love the way you interact with your readers, in fact I have joined the Kenikodjo family by force. Thanks and cheers to more interesting reads
