KR Welcome

Meet Keni

Maukeni Ribeiro photo

Ghana’s favourite storyteller

Maukeni Padiki Ribeiro has been telling stories and observing details for as long as she has been speaking. She prides herself in chronicling modern day Ghanaian history with her fictional stories, her famous story series and think pieces. From inter-tribal marriages and office romance to COVID-19 and presidential elections, she has written about it all.

Since 2014, her exceptional storytelling abilities, knack for finding and highlighting the most compelling aspects of any topic and her charismatic ability to entertain and inform have given her a loyal following across the globe. The blog was awarded Best Blog at the 2016 Ghana Blogging and Social Media Awards.

Her readers are ‘the world’s best readers’, with a sense of community that spans the world of Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Telegram and Instagram. Their comments are usually just as interesting as her stories.

Professionally, Maukeni is a communications and marketing executive with 9 years of extensive experience in brand and content development across several sectors- insurance, government communication, advertising, creative arts, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and banking. In 2024, she was named one of the top 100 Career Women in Africa.

When she is not developing characters by people watching, she is listening to music, catching up on pop culture on Twitter or eating either chocolate or kelewele.

For inquiries about commissioned work, trainings, speaking engagements and other services, reach her on info@keniribeiro.com or in the DMs on social media!

Reviews from the readers

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Keni is the master of audience development and for the nine years I have known her, she continues to grow this very important aspect of the life and work of a writer, especially one whose work is mostly digital.

The reason why we enjoy Keni’s writing so much is because she is telling our stories. Somehow she manages to capture our thoughts and feelings. Her characters feel familiar, like a neighbour, like looking at your own reflection.

Anything written by Keni will pull you in without permission. You will find yourself rooting for a character, laughing, crying, name it! Next thing you know, you are setting an alarm for the next episode.

Keni writes to uplift. She is able to capture her audience in the most unconscious of ways and keeps them connected to her material effortlessly. She has a way of weaving the seemingly disconnected pieces of a story together into complete works of literary art.

Project KCC

Project KCC is a KeniRibeiro initiative to introduce Ghanaian children in public school to various forms of creative arts and to encourage them to take an active interest in them.
